Do I need a Google+ page for my business website?

Do I need a Google+ page for my business website? This is a question I hear often from friends, family and website clients all the time and my answer is an emphatic yes!

Top 5 reasons for getting on board with Google+

1. Google+ is actual 3 platforms rolled into 1

By creating your listing on Google My Business and filling out a few simple details you will get a media rich listing on Google Maps, Google+ and Google Search, now thats what I call a great deal.

2. Look good in search results

With one interface to keep your business details up to date, it's easy to provide your potential customers with relevant accurate info regardless of whether they are searching for you or looking at a local map you can have control over what they are seeing and make sure important details like your phone number and website address are 100% accurate.

3. Show up in mobile searches

There is no denying it, smart phones and tablets are everywhere and we are using them more and more to find local products and services in our area. If your business has a listing on Google Maps it's going to show up and better yet I can get driving directions at the touch or two of the screen and I'm on my way to knock down your door and spend my money with you. Mobile web searches are all about speed and convenience, why not make it easy?

4. Improved search results

Ok I can hear you already, "I have a great website that appears on the first page of search results already, what more do I need?" If one is good then 2 must be twice as good. If the searcher is looking for a local business or service the chances are in addition to your website popping up in the search results so will you Google+ listing. That equals double the chances that it will be your business they click on.

5. Social Engagement

Chances are that you have a Facebook page for your business and chances are you have noticed it's getting harder and harder to get your followers to see your posts, engagement is on the downward slide with Facebook unless you are a Social Media Master or are prepared to pay to boost posts. Google+ is by contrast on the rise and targeting your posts to groups and individuals is easy.

Get started!

So hopefully by this point you can see why you really can't afford to miss out on the opportunities that Google+ provides so why not jump right in and get started.
